Welcome to our Hostel! From the year of 1883, the building witnessed the history of the last century – which includes powerful moves that led to the establishment of the Republic in Portugal – hosted former municipal archives and, in our hands, suffered a minimal intervention, but assumedly contemporary in order to become the accommodation of choice for demanding guests. The building has 3 floors and no elevator. The reception is open 24 hours a day.
Praça da República
Is one of the city’s central points and seven streets flow into it. It was the scene of some of the most important political and military moments in history, namely the concentration of liberal troops in 1820, the meeting of the Batalhão de Caçadores No. 9 and Infantry No. 10 in the Rebellion of January 31, 1891 and was the headquarters of the northern command post in the revolution of April 25, 1974. Today it houses the Teófilo Braga Garden.
